Season 15 Runewords: How Good Are the New Ones?

wudijo’s test video from 16 September 2026 counts 17 runewords in season 15. Most are weapons, along with several chest pieces and one helm.

Exhausting every available rune combination in the game produces 19 results, which means at most two more are undiscovered.

How to craft them

• The Horadric Cube is the entry point. Insert an item with no affixes at all plus the required runes. When the recipe is valid, the transmute button lights up.
• Rune order does not matter. Unlike Diablo II, reversing them still works.
• Salvaging usually returns the runes. The creator recovered them both times he tried, but notes it is not guaranteed.
• Stealth is free. The seasonal questline hands you a white chest piece plus Tal and Eth early on, so you can craft it immediately and replace it with a better base around level 60.

Which ones are worth making

• Stealth is the best early return. The creator used it until roughly level 70.
• The teleport recipe gets the most attention, and it needs a Ber rune. He notes he never found a Ber solo in Diablo II, so it should be far easier here, but not trivial.
• The Countess is still the rune source. One test run dropped several runes, which he calls the most direct route.

One detail that is easy to miss

Runewords can be enchanted. A commenter mentions rerolling the damage reduction on Stealth into maximum life.

The creator’s own advice is to treat a runeword as gear you can keep working on rather than a finished item.

Where the facts stop

The figure of 17 comes from data mining and the creator’s own count. Blizzard’s season notes only published the two new Horadric Cube recipes and the nine returning uniques, without listing every runeword.

So the “complete list” is creator-tested, not officially published.
